Who is responsible

Fire Sky Ankole is the responsible party for personal information handled through website enquiries and related correspondence. Privacy requests may be sent to bernard@2tp.co.za.

What the website handles

If you complete an enquiry, visit or newsletter form, the website composes an email in your own email application. Depending on the form, that draft may contain your name, farm or business, email address, telephone number, relationship to Fire Sky, interests, selected public animal IDs and your message. The website does not submit those fields to a form-processing service. The information reaches Fire Sky only if you choose to send the email.

The genetic database can be searched and factual reports can be prepared without creating an account. Your saved animal selection consists only of public animal IDs and is stored locally in your browser so that it remains available on your device. Clearing the site's browser storage removes that selection.

Why we use information

We use information you send to answer enquiries, arrange visits, discuss animals or genetics, prepare requested follow-up, maintain correspondence and meet applicable legal or record-keeping duties. This processing is based on your request and, where applicable, steps toward or performance of an agreement, legitimate business correspondence, consent, or a legal obligation.

Marketing

Consent to occasional Fire Sky news is optional and separate from a general enquiry. A newsletter form creates an email request; it does not automatically subscribe you. You may withdraw marketing consent or unsubscribe at any time by emailing Fire Sky. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.

Sharing, links and transfers

We do not sell personal information. We may share it with service providers that support ordinary email, communications, hosting or professional advice, where reasonably necessary and subject to appropriate safeguards, or where the law requires it. Links to services such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Veewinkel or an email provider take you to services operated under those providers' own privacy terms.

Analytics and browser storage

The current site does not send form contents to an analytics provider. Its internal event layer can record non-contact interactions such as searches, filters, selections and report actions if an analytics service is enabled later; names, email addresses, telephone numbers, messages and unnecessary full selection details must not be sent. This notice will be updated before materially different tracking is introduced.

Retention and security

Information sent by email is kept within Fire Sky's normal correspondence and business records only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was received, a continuing relationship, dispute handling, or a legal or accounting requirement. We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards, but no email or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold your personal information, request access to it, request correction or deletion, object to particular processing, or withdraw consent. You may also object at any time to direct marketing. Send a request to bernard@2tp.co.za; we may need enough information to verify the request and locate the relevant correspondence.

If a privacy concern is not resolved, you may complain to South Africa's Information Regulator through its eServices portal, email POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za, or telephone 010 023 5200.

Changes

We may update this notice when the website or our practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
